Food, Baklava and Queens: The Worlds Behind the Designs
Not every design here is an album cover. Some come from the food, the nickname and the borough that shaped me. Here's the story behind them.
What is F*ck, That's Delicious?
It's my food show and my cookbook. The show started as a web series in 2014 and ran on Viceland from 2016, and the cookbook with the same name came out in 2017. Our F*ck That's Delicious Logo puts a huge red F*CK over a sweeping white script that's Delicious, and a second design adds FROM PARIS WITH LOVE on the front and tall pixel BAKLAVA on the back.
What is Baklava?
Mr. Baklava is one of my nicknames, next to Bam Bam and Bronsoliño. It shows up in the shop on a Baklava Horse cartoon, with a fist punching through the word, and on the Baklava Basketball design, with orange letters over a sunburst in the style of a classic New York team logo.
Why Queens?
I was born in Flushing, Queens, and I cooked at my father's restaurant in Forest Hills before rap took over. The BCU Queens NY design spells the made-up college team's letters in giant yellow block capitals with QUEENS, NY underneath, and the New York Knicks Ain't Easy Being Easy badge turns a beard into a basketball.
